There will be an article in the program about the secrets to a happy marriage. It will include quotes from famous marriages in the Cavendish community - I can't reveal who these smart people are. The first day of rehearsal for Private Lives was yesterday. The chemistry between the actors is sensational - I have reason to believe that this will be the funniest, most interesting play that you will have seen in 20 years. It is certainly the funniest show I have directed in that length of time.

bestofpei.com will give us an answer on the Montgomery's Legacy concerts on Monday. They love it and think it is a perfect fit - they just need to arrange money. That is the hold up.

Below is the announcement about Study Abroad Canada sponsorship.

Thats the news.

Friday, June 12

Study Abroad Canada will be the sponsor of Maud of Cavendish for $3,000.

This business is owned by Sherry Huang - who some of you will remember from the Private Lives Ball.  Sherry was wearing a beautiful cherry red antique Chinese silk dress.

One more sponsorship to go: Montgomery's Legacy Concerts: Celebrating Island Writers

Doug MacArthur from bestofpei has been slow to respond to Laurel's proposal. I will call him today to get a firm response so we can look elsewhere if he is not able to take it up.

Thursday June 11th

George Campbell (Anne of Green Gables Store) had to decline the sponsorship of Maud of cavendish at Green Gables house this summer because of a slow start to his season this year. he called last night to say how sorry he was.

We would like to announce this sponsor on June 20th. Because of the lateness, we should target a person with whom we already have a relationship.

Any other ideas of a business who would like a presence in Green Gables House?

I will speak to Blair Macluachlan this morning, but it is a long shot.

Sponsorship Deal:

Large poster at entrance to Green Gables House
Exclusive posters (10-20) throughout National Parks
Full page in 16,000 playbills available for free throughout Cavendish
$1700 worth of tickets to all shows including opening nights
Large poster at Cavendish corner
Name on our website and online box office
Speaking opportunities at opening nights from the stage
Private parties invitation with cast and board
custom designed extras (product placement, etc)

Price $3000

The Best of PEI is interested in the same size sponsorship for the Montgomery's Legacy Concert Series. This is not yet confirmed - we plan to confirm this by June 20th as well.

Opening TONIGHT at 7 PM of The Pearl Cafe. This is an art auction of work donated by local artists to raise funds that will provide scholarships for local young people to attend the professional acting, writing and directing camps at the PEI Conservatory this summer. Last year this was huge - come on over if you are in the neighbourhood.

Announcement of new plays and the concert series at Green Gables House on June 20th, 5-7 pm. All welcome. June 20th is publication day (the day Anne of Green Gables was published in 1908)
Business development PEI is giving us a loan to start up the season using our confirmed grants as collatoral ($22,500)
