We have sold over $1000 in tickets online so far - $200 yesterday.
BioVector (Regis Duffy) will be the sponsor for The Fourposter for $4000. The fee will be sent to us by months end. Duncan Conrad and I met with Regis this afternoon when he agreed.
I was the celebrity bus boy at Maxine's restaurant on Mother's Day (she served over 120 people that day - congratulations Max). Many, many people who had been to the theatre were there and they have said that they will purchase tickets. I found great enthusiasm and support for the plays and excitement about the season.
Cheryl Wagner bought four tickets to each opening night - thanks, Cheryl. Patrons receive 2 tickets to each opening night, so Gracie will get her seats as a result of her $1000 patron donation. We will be contacting all of the other patrons (9,000 so far from $250, $500 and $1000 donors) since they all get opening night tickets. It would be great to see all our board at the openings - Duncan C has bought his tickets for a later night and that is great too. Have you bought your tickets yet?
The Heart and Stroke Foundation of PEI will meet me on Friday to do a site inspection at Avonlea. They are interested in buying out a performance and selling the tickets as a fundraiser.
Duncan Conrad and I met with Erroll Andrews (of Andrews Homes) who was interested in joining the board as Treasurer. He is concerned with how much time it will require, so he will meet with Geoff and see if he can swing it.
I meet with the Prince Edward Island Vodka Distilleries tomorrow about their sponsorship of Private Lives
There is a new interest in Maud of Cavendish sponsorship - this time from George Campbell. I am putting together a proposal for $3500
Jackie Torrens and Graham Percy will be announced as the stars of Private Lives in The Guardian on Saturday and the Buzz at months end.
Gracie is in Toronto and will have dinner tomorrow with the Minister of Tourism and David Mackenzie, who is a supporter. If you have anything to pass along to Gracie you can do it at:
grace_stickings@hotmail.com
No response yet from Tourism (Janet Wood - response due a week ago), Heritage (Charles Desroches-response due a month ago) or Parks Canada (Maurice Roy-response due three months ago) on our applications. I am now calling them daily.
Will write tomorrow. Keep going team!
